Istanbul Tours:
Walking Routes and Bosphorus Cruises

You can get the most of your Istanbul tours through two ways;

  • Walking
  • Cruising

The best way to comprehend Istanbul is through a Walking Tour. This way every detail will sink in. And cruising the Bosphorus is a heavenly gift and complementary to the walking tours.

Yes, there are lots of things to do and see in Istanbul… I know, with a limited time, you must be wondering “How on earth you will be able to do-them-all!”

Relax; you’ll do just fine… Besides being very big and very busy-on-schedule, Istanbul has the best solution in itself! The places to see and the neighborhoods have just the right size; that makes the city walk-friendly. Istanbul tours will be the most enchanting tours of your life.

What makes Istanbul an excellent place to discover is that you can see the major attractions during leisurely walks. Some places that can be explored through a nice walk are:

  • The glorious new town, (known as Beyoglu or Pera) as the melting pot in Ottoman Empire’s Istanbul. Beyoğlu was a diverse mosaic of non-muslim traders and levantine commerce.
  • The Historic Peninsula (known as” the Sultanahmet region/area” or “the Old City”) housing thousands of years of history.
  • The breath-taking Bosphorus shores. Bosphorus Strait flows like a silver line between two city parts, combining Europe and Asia and offering stunning vistas all along.

You will have a clear understanding of the city when you finish at least one of these Istanbul tours. Are you ready to discover a magnificent city and feeling happily exhausted at the end of the day? Maybe an aching back and some sour feet too? Then we’re on the right track…

You should keep in mind that less than 3 days is not even nearly enough time to explore Istanbul; the crown seat of three world empires.

It is better to expect only to cover the basics of Istanbul in less than 3 days. Besides, you should expect to leave exhausted but wanting to come back again and see more…

You will leave this magnificent city culturally enriched and enjoyed your time fully, after your Istanbul tours.

This section gives you an outline of what you can cover in 1, 2 or 3 days in Istanbul. Certainly on a load of Turkish delight and Turkish coffee!!! (Mmm, yummy..) I've created Walking Tours that will suit every need. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a repeat guest to Istanbul, or you are a visitor with limited time or with more than two days, you will find the best tour that suits your traveling needs, between these Walking Tours.

For example, you might consider having a walk along the classical sightseeings such as Sultanahmet or you can choose the less beaten track and walk the neighborhoods of Balat and Fener, along the Golden Horn, to see the neighborhoods that survived for centuries.

Here are some of my best routes while walking around the city… I have prepared “Suggested Itineraries” for you, so you can choose between and combine to each other.

By taking these walking tours, you will not only discover the best spots in the city but find out all about hot cafes, restaurants, galleries, chic museums and other places…

Get ready to make a time-travel between centuries, with Istanbul tours...

It is better to consider these walking routes as a suggestion for Istanbul's best sights that you will want to cover, regardless of the time you have.

Be sure to give at least one full day to explore this fascinating city at your own pace!

Here they are;

You can combine these tours depending on how much time you have and what you want to see…

I will be adding new walking tour suggestions every other week. So remember checking these pages every now and then…

Remember, don’t get sightseeing-bounded, relax and enjoy! ...
